The Machine Operator has a focus on machining components for all manufacturing operations. Machines a wide variety of parts that make up the various products we offer in the marketplace.

• Operate machines and power equipment according to specific instructions for those machines power equipment.
• Manually set up each machine or pull up the computer program in the case of CNC equipment for parts production.
• Run material through the machines checking for accuracy and quality.
• Perform timely and regular calibrations and perform preventive maintenance on machines you are responsible for.
• Insure that the correct materials are being used for each product component.
• Identify and use correct tooling to perform each operation.
• Help ensure that 5S for the area are met.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Support the Quality Policy and Safety Policy.
• Support the Vision and Guiding Principles of Kimball International and the facility Priorities of Focus and management policies.

• Ability to learn and adapt to new situations quickly.

• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Able to effectively use problem solving skills.
• High level of parts knowledge related to area of responsibility.
• Understand the effects of the material used on surfaces to be finished.
• Able to transport and prepare a wide variety of parts for other operations.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new parts and products.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Good verbal/written communication skills.
• Work in a team environment.
• Knowledge on CNC machines or prior machine operator experience.
