• Perform solid modeling and creation of drawings.
• Establish/maintain vendor relations, including identifying part improvement opportunities with potential vendors.
• Provide technical support to internal departments including Production, Quality, and Purchasing.
• Aid in the evaluation of sample parts from vendors.
• Provide periodic project updates, and must be open to additional training/application opportunities.
• Communicate with supervisor, engineers, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Some light duty lifting is required (up to 35 pounds) and using a hoist for heavy lifting to cut metal and install and remove tooling and work pieces from the machine.
• Simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling, finger dexterity, foot movement, bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching are all required at times.

• Organized, detailed, and focused.
• The ability to follow instruction and communicate clearly.
• Proficient with developing 2-D drawings utilizing AutoCAD.
• Proficient with using 3-D modeling software (Solidworks and Design X).
• The ability to independently manage projects.
• The ability to accomplish assigned tasks within allocated time frame.
• Intermediate knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments. Instruments include but are not limited to calipers,  OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, scales, and CMM/Faro-arm/Metra-Scan .
• Adaptable to changing work environments, competing demands, and be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
• The ability to take verbal and written instructions and work from handmade sketches.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent preferred
