Logistics Coordinator

The Lumber Sales Logistics Coordinator works as a member of the Jasper Lumber Sales Team, responsible for providing trucking and logistics expertise to increase the volume of prepaid truck shipments to customers. This position plays a vital role in managing dressed inventory, especially as production expands following capital investments—and provides additional support to the Sales Department. The role also requires a strong commitment to working safely, following all company safety practices and promoting a safe work environment in every aspect of logistics operations.

• Expanding the company’s prepaid freight capabilities to reduce reliance on customer pickups.
• Improving Average Margin Values (AMVs) through enhanced freight margin performance.
• Enhancing control over dressed inventory through more predictable and reliable freight planning.

• Providing competitive freight rate options for all lumber orders.
• Prospecting, developing, and maintaining a reliable network of motor carriers.
• Monitoring logistics market conditions and alerting the sales team to potential trucking shortages.
• Identifying market opportunities based on freight economics and geography.
• Offering seamless backup support for the Sales Coordinator position.

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience;
  or
• Post‑secondary education in business, forestry, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of the trucking and logistics industry.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities at once.
• Proactive problem‑solving with strong decision‑making capability.
• Strong computer proficiency and keyboarding skills.
• Solid mathematical aptitude and strong negotiation skills.
