Quality Assurance Lead

Job Description

The Quality Assurance/Control Lead will develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and quality control systems in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This role involves leading and coordinating internal and external quality audits, ensuring prompt resolution of identified issues, non-conformances, or corrective actions. The Quality Assurance Lead will analyze quality data, performance indicators, and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Collaboration with production, engineering, and supply chain teams is essential to embed quality standards throughout all phases of product development and manufacturing. Additionally, this role involves training, mentoring, and supporting quality assurance staff to ensure consistent application of best practices and fostering a strong culture of quality across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and quality control systems.
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external quality audits.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of identified issues, non-conformances, or corrective actions.
  • Analyze quality data, performance indicators, and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to embed quality standards throughout all phases of product development and manufacturing.
  • Train, mentor, and support quality assurance staff.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in quality control and quality assurance practices.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance documentation and regulatory standards such as USDA, FDA, and HACCP.
  • 5+ years of experience in QA or QC roles within a GMP environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience conducting audits and managing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Experience with in ISO 9001 or other regulatory standards.

Work Environment

The position operates on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with 10-hour shifts starting at 5 am. Mandatory Saturdays are required, with 6-8 hour shifts. The company culture supports business demands, and team members must be flexible with their schedules. The dress code is casual, with jeans and shirts allowed, but steel-toed shoes are mandatory. Lab coats, hair/beard nets, and other necessary safety gear are provided.

It is a GMP regulated facility, so jewelry, fake nails, or any items that could fall into the food product are prohibited.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Janesville, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.
