Responsibilities- Lead and support comprehensive psychiatric nursing activities aligned with best practices in behavioral health.
- Conduct thorough mental status assessments.
- Implement and refine crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
- Administer prescribed medications with meticulous attention to policy and safety; monitor for adverse effects.
- Perform risk assessments and coordinate care with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers.
- Actively participate in treatment planning and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Document in electronic health records accurately and timely to reflect patient progress and inform ongoing care decisions.
- Engage in professional growth opportunities, including pursuing specialty certifications and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
- Potentially assume precepting responsibilities to support newer team members.
