Overview

Provides compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting Mercyhealth nursing mission, practice values and strategic plan. Performs other duties as assigned including floating to units based on identified needs and clinical competency.

MBB Clinic, Janesville WI – 40 hours per week (part‑time). Day shift, no weekends, no holidays. Benefit eligible.

• Utilizes the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
• Ensures all documentation is accurate and comprehensive in accordance with established standards of care.
• Develops and executes patient plan of care according to individualized needs as prescribed by physician or hospital policy.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Provides clinical expertise to other units/departments in support of patient longitudinal plan of care.
• Manages patient safety and patient experience, delegates to other staff appropriately, escalates to appropriate chain of command as needed.
• Positively influences the professional and organizational environments and shared governance.
• Engages in personal development and supports continuous learning opportunities.
• Supports and participates in peer review and peer feedback opportunities.
• Maintains timely flow of patients, responds to telephone calls, performs telephone triage of patients.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred. May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify per department guidelines.

Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days. Other certification(s) per unit requirements (e.g., ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP).

Employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or smell. Must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
