Position Summary
0.8 FTE Human Services Paraprofessional – Crisis Triage Technician
FTE: 32 hours per week.
Hours of Work:
Every Friday through Monday, all shifts from 7:00 pm – 3:30 am.
Shift Differential: $2.65 per hour for each night shift worked.
Responsibilities- 75% – Provide person‑centered behavioral health care services for clients experiencing, or at risk of, a mental health or substance use disorder crisis. Tasks include:
- Triage and direct crisis phone calls based on identified need.
- Provide support and resources to callers and individuals presenting in person.
- Transport clients via county vehicle as clinically indicated.
- Complete scheduled phone support calls, welfare checks, and medication deliveries.
- Assist in facilitating admissions and discharges from inpatient, detoxification, or stabilization facilities.
- 15% – Ensure program and medical record compliance:
- Follow all departmental and divisional policies and procedures.
- Document client care as per policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- 5% – Participate in staff meetings and other agency activities as required.
- 5% – Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a human services related setting, or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Must possess and maintain a current unrestricted driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for the majority of the day.
- Ability to enter client homes without assistance, including navigating stairs.
- Participate in disaster evacuations and fire drills when circumstances warrant.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on occasion.
- Proficiency with a computer, keyboard, and basic software (Microsoft Office, electronic medical record system).
- Use of a copy/fax machine, cellphone, and county vehicle as needed.
- Work in multiple locations: office, client homes, and community sites.
- Exposure to weather conditions and potentially aggressive individuals.
- Interaction with animals may occur.
