We are seeking a Roadway Design Project Manager to lead civil and transportation design projects while building strong relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders. - Manage multiple transportation and civil engineering projects, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including civil, survey, and external consultants
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with clients, team members, and management
- Communicate clearly and effectively across project teams and departments
- Delegate tasks appropriately while providing mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced engineers
- Support the engineering design team by ensuring access to internal expertise and maintaining design quality
- Lead project reviews and perform project-related QA/QC
- Prepare and review technical reports, plans, and project documentation
- Participate in the development of RFPs and RFQs
- Resolve project-related issues and conflicts in a constructive and timely manner
- Deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective engineering designs for clients
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 2+ years of design project management experience
- Design project engineering experience in civil or transportation projects
- Demonstrated proficiency with CAD/BIM software
- Ability and willingness to obtain Wisconsin PE licensure within one year
- 3+ years of progressive experience in roadway design
- Experience with Wisconsin DOT and municipal roadway projects
- Familiarity with project contracts, specifications, and PS&E development
- Ability to read, review, and perform QA/QC on engineering designs
Experience:
- Experience scoping civil or transportation projects
- Ability to apply practical field experience to inform design decisions
- Proficiency with Civil 3D
- Background in land surveying, permitting, land planning, or construction coordination
- Experience managing complex public and private sector projects involving multiple disciplines
