Field Engineer- Mechanical

Job Overview

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer who will take ownership of identifying and resolving issues related to the planning and implementation of process and mechanical systems at the SHINE Medical Isotope Production Facility. The engineer will work closely with structural, electrical, I&C engineers and outside Engineers of Record to finalize layouts, ensure complete designs, and oversee contractor execution. The role requires hands‑on construction experience with piping, pumps, tubing, welding, pipe supports, and HVAC.

Base salary range: $105,000 - $135,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package.

• Develop plans of action to resolve design installation issues by reviewing drawings, codes, contractor submittals, and the 3D model.
• Conduct constructability reviews of existing and new engineering designs, identifying installation or operability issues and proposing design solutions.
• Maintain configuration control by initiating Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and tracking their implementation in the field.
• Oversee field work to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications, and coordinate with contractors and engineers to resolve field issues using RFIs and ECRs.
• Generate and respond to RFIs, draft ECRs with technical and formal accuracy, and manage field walk‑downs of completed installations to support testing and work‑package closures.
• Track hold points, review and close work packages in a timely manner, and identify and resolve quality discrepancies via the NCR process.
• Initiate corrective action programs, issue Management Reports, and complete assigned actions.
• Support all divisions of the company to execute construction activities and turn over the facility to Operations.
• Use clear and effective communication to interface with external stakeholders, including engineers of record, contractors, and vendors.
• Maintain a positive attitude, pursue personal accountability, champion safety through walk‑downs, and coach others to improve site safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Engineering Manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred) with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction or project management on an active capital construction project; or ten (10) years of field engineering experience in one of the focused disciplines in lieu of the education requirement.
• Ability to work in a team environment, follow directions, and think independently.
• Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, procedures, and government regulations.
• Skilled at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, drawing conclusions, and driving acceptable resolutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Industry experience in construction or operations of nuclear facilities (Part 50 or 70) preferred.
