Records Clerk Part Time
City of Janesville is seeking a Records Clerk Part Time. Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about providing top-notch customer service? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a talent for data entry? Are you a night owl looking to support law enforcement? If so, we want you to join our Records team at the City of Janesville Police Department as a Records Clerk!
As a key member of our team, you will handle a variety of specialized clerical duties, including typing, transcribing, and filing dictated police reports, processing important documents, and assisting the public both in person and over the phone.
In This Role, You Will- Redact videos, accurately type and file reports, complaints, warrants, and other essential documents
- Maintain our records management system, ensuring precise data entry and organization
- Provide outstanding customer service to citizens with non-emergency inquiries

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of general clerical experience and data entry/database support experience is required.
- Access to personal or public transportation for job-related duties.
- Must pass thorough background investigation that includes no felony convictions.
- Prior experience in a law enforcement agency is desired but not required.
Unsure you meet the qualifications? A combination of equivalent experience and/or education as determined by the Human Resources Office may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
Typical SchedulePart Time Hours – 24 hours/week during 1st or 2nd shift.
PayThe starting hourly rate for this position is $23.72; this is a non-exempt position. This position is also eligible for annual economic adjustments and performance-based adjustments, as approved by the City Council.
BenefitsPart Time Employees will receive a benefits package that includes vacation pay, holiday pay, sick leave, and bilingual certification. Vacation, holiday, and sick time hours are based on the number of hours worked.
