Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/ICU position requiring ND or compact RN license, ICU background, and ACLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a 23-bed Med/Surg/ICU unit with day/night rotation shifts
- Nurse to patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on census and patient needs
- Patient population includes all ages in a critical care environment
- Duties include telemetry, dressing changes, BIPAP care, IV starts, and management of ventilators
- Uses Epic for charting, Omnicell medication systems, Liko and EZ lifts, Alaris IV pumps, and Nova Statstrip blood glucose monitoring
- 12-hour shifts on a variable day/night schedule, including weekends
- No floating to other departments is required
- Full-time position working 72 hours per two-week pay period
- Black scrubs required as dress code
- One week of hospital and department orientation provided
- Must provide leadership and patient/family education as part of routine responsibilities
- Team environment with support from ancillary and clinical staff
- Active ND or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Completion of a basic cardiology class for nurses and experience with rhythm analysis and cardiac medications required
- Experience with BIPAP care and mechanical ventilation required
