Housekeeper, Maintenance​/Cleaning

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our compassionate team. In this vital role, you will ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Your efforts will directly contribute to the comfort and well‑being of those we serve by maintaining high standards of cleanliness across our facility.

SMP Health – Ave Maria. Full‑time position working 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Requires working every other weekend and every other holiday.

Duties include cleaning residents' rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and assisting with putting residents' clothing away in their rooms. Looking for someone willing to interact with residents and be a positive, team‑oriented addition to the team.

• The Housekeeper is responsible for performing designated cleaning throughout the interior of the facility, including residents' rooms, resident common areas, offices, work room areas, storage areas, hallways and resident and public restrooms following SMP Health Ave Maria policies and procedures. Cleaning includes vacuuming and shampooing carpets, mopping and waxing floors, and disposing of garbage in facility dumpsters making sure dumpster lids are closed.
• The incumbent is responsible for putting resident's clothing items in their dressers and closets on assigned neighborhoods.
• This position is responsible for keeping housekeeping equipment clean and maintained, for reporting required equipment repairs to maintenance, and for reporting needed supplies to the Housekeeping/Laundry Coordinator. The Housekeeper I is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing resident beds monthly and resident rooms between admissions and does both tasks more often if necessary. The incumbent is also responsible for cleaning interior and exterior facility windows.
• The Housekeeper is responsible to put away the shipment of supplies.
• Performs safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment. This includes understanding and following procedures relating to emergencies, wandering residents, fire, severe weather, evacuation, universal precautions, infection control procedures, and safe operation of any equipment used.
• Responsible for attending and actively participating in work, meetings and in‑services in order to be knowledgeable and to contribute to the residents' highest level and serves on various committees. Completes QA reports as requested.
