CNA Direct Care Associate

ND Health and Human Services is seeking dedicated CNA/Direct Care Associates to join the team at North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown, ND. The position is available for full‑time, part‑time, and temporary shifts with competitive pay beginning at $20.00 per hour for licensed CNAs and $18.00 per hour for non‑certified applicants.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, daily living tasks, and environmental safety.
• Model effective communication and socialization interactions while teaching self‑advocacy and self‑help strategies.
• Observe and monitor individuals’ condition, documenting changes in well‑being and reporting any concerns.
• Help individuals identify goals for recovery, learning, and practicing new skills and support them in achieving these goals.
• Provide care to special populations including psychiatric rehabilitation, substance use disorder treatment, and residential treatment for sexually dangerous individuals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience providing direct care to special populations preferred.
• Non‑certified applicants will receive CNA training for full‑time and part‑time employees onsite if not currently certified.
• Temporary employment requires current CNA certification.
