Moses Elementary will be hiring for two positions. Final grade level to be determined prior to an offer or hiring completion.
This position will start August 14, 2026. New Teacher Orientation will be held August 11-13, 2026.
A teaching contract is 187 days.
External candidates can bring up to 17 years of contracted K-12 teaching experience.
Qualifications
- A valid ND teaching certificate
- Bachelor's degree
This posting is for internal and external teaching applicants (including current BPS employees in support staff/temporary/substitute positions). Current contracted part‑time BPS teachers wanting a full‑time position should also complete the external application.
Applicants will be asked to complete the EPI Candidate Assessment. The assessment is timed and takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Job GoalTo lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for physical, intellectual, and socio‑emotional growth and maturation.
Essential Functions- Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children.
- Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students.
- Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
- Supervises students in a variety of school‑related settings.
- Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Creates daily lesson plans that are complete enough for a substitute teacher to take over the class if necessary.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated by the immediate supervisor.
- Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom and on the campus in a fair and just manner.
- Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with other staff members.
- Provides for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning complying with Bismarck Public Schools' professional growth program.
