The University of Jamestown is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach on-campus in the Department of Computing, Design, and Communication. The position is scheduled to begin in Fall 2026. Applicants must be committed to liberal arts undergraduate education and demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship/creative activity, and service.

Position Overview: The Department of Computing, Design, and Communication at the University of Jamestown is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Communication faculty member with a passion for teaching and who will excel in a liberal arts environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the fundamentals of communication, be able to support the development of a holistic approach to new media, and commit to interdisciplinary collaboration and engagement with the broader liberal arts curriculum.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of communication courses that will build upon current, successful programs, as well as add to our growing social media management concentration.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ethical awareness in communication.
- Mentor and advise students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development of interdisciplinary programs and engage with other departments across the university.
- Participate in departmental and university-wide committees and initiatives.
- Maintain an active presence in the academic and professional communication community.
Minimum requirements:
- Master's degree in communication
Preferred qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in communication
- Previous higher education teaching experience
