Our client is a San Francisco‑based startup that is building software for industrial automation and manufacturing use cases. Our first two products are “Operations Agent”, an AI workflow engine and chatbot with deep integrations into factory systems, and “Engineering Copilot”, a coding assistant for PLC programmers.

Our vision is to bring AI‑enabled workflows, development tools, languages, and runtimes into the manufacturing ecosystem – ultimately becoming the platform on which all modern industrial automation processes are built and deployed. The first version of the Nexus platform is getting deployed at customers ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to single‑location equipment manufacturers.

We’re looking for a passionate and talented Frontend Engineer to join our team. You’ll take ownership of our frontend and VSCode extension code, help deliver in‑progress projects, and will be part of planning and architecture of future projects. We are in the exciting and fast‑paced 0 → 1 phase of company building – you’ll need to strongly believe in our mission, welcome the challenge of ambiguity, and iterate fast.

• Experience with Type Script/Node:
  Has contributed to and shipped many Typescript projects. Deep language and ecosystem knowledge proven in roles as code reviewer and mentor.
• True “Full‑Stack” Engineer:
  Project experience that goes beyond React front‑ends and REST APIs. Prior exposure to some of: cloud, databases, event‑driven systems, authentication, networking, monitoring and observability.
• Exceptional Software Development
  
  Skills:
  
  Experience writing code both from scratch and in large existing codebases. Can implement systems in about one‑third the time that others think possible.
• Generative AI:
  Has built software that utilizes LLM intelligence, for example for agents, chatbots, knowledge retrieval.
• Expert User of AI Coding Tools:
  Willing and able to use AI tools in their work every day. Excited to help us continuously improve speed and quality of our software development process.
• Critical Thinking:
  Quickly understands new technologies and how they apply use cases or customers. Can think big, dive deep, and know which one is needed.
• Communication:
  Ability to communicate quickly and clearly in documents, chat, and calls. Knowledge of specific languages and products is less important than proven experience with a broad set of concepts.

• Experience with manufacturing automation and controls engineering software and terminology.
• Created extensions for Visual Studio Code or other IDE.
• Built integrations with enterprise SaaS software.
• Familiarity with programming for Windows.
