Senior Python Engineer; Poland

About the project

Impressitis looking for a Senior Python Developer to join a cross-functional product team working on a large-scale Finance & Risk platform used by a global enterprise in the energy trading domain. The product enhances flexibility and operational resilience within financial reporting processes, automates key workflows, supports PnL adjustments and sign-off procedures, and improves transparency and control across the organization’s finance architecture.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact enterprise system with real-world influence, while collaborating with international teams and using modern cloud-native technologies.

• Build backend Python applications using modern frameworks and microservice patterns
• Translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Deliver high-quality features following established project standards and best practices
• Develop components within an event-driven microservices architecture
• Manage and optimize relational databases and address performance issues
• Design and maintain complex enterprise integrations
• Work with cloud platforms (Azure), CI/CD pipelines, caching, and SQL databases
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability using monitoring and tuning tools
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with enterprise standards
• Participate in architectural discussions and solution design
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and domain experts across global teams

• 10+ years of commercial experience as a Python Developer
• Strong hands‑on experience with Python, including FastAPI and async processing
• Experience building event‑driven microservices
• Solid experience with Azure, containerization, and cloud‑native development
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server)
• Proven ability to write testable code (BDD practices as a plus)
• Good understanding of CI/CD (Git Hub Actions is a plus)
• Experience with complex system integrations in enterprise environments
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills (profiling, tuning)
• Excellent communicator, comfortable working in global cross‑functional teams
• Strong understanding of CS fundamentals (SOLID principles, DDD as a plus)
• Experience in finance, risk management, trading, or energy trading
• Upper‑Intermediate or higher level of English

• Experience with Domain‑Driven Design (DDD)
• Background mixing data engineering and software engineering
• Previous experience in finance, trading, or risk domains
• Passion for clean code, architecture patterns, and high development standards
