Offer Description

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) and the following qualification criteria:

  • PhD degree in physics/optics/computer science/mathematics/biomedical engineering/optometry or a related discipline
  • Experience in the field of phase optics
  • Experience in developing optical imaging techniques
  • Experience in biomedical imaging, particularly in vivo human eye imaging
  • Skills in signal and image analysis (e.g., using Matlab, Python, or Labview)
  • Proficient level of communication in English (spoken and written) and excellent presentation skills
  • High motivation and enthusiasm for scientific work in a multidisciplinary team

Additionally, the following traits will be highly advantageous:

  • Experience with OCT and SLO technologies
  • Experience in laboratory and/or clinical work in the field of biomedical imaging
  • Experience in programming in languages such as Matlab, Python, Labview, C/C++/C#, and others

We offer employment within the Center of Excellence "From Fundamental Optics to Applied Biophotonics" at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń at the Institute of Physics, at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Informatics, at the Department of Biophotonics and Optical Engineering.

Period of employment: 11 months

After a preliminary selection, a shortlist of candidates who fulfil the main eligibility criteria will be invited for an interview, either in person or online.
