Business Development Manager - Poland

Based in Prague, Czech Republic (relocation assistance offered within CEEME or EU region)

Job Summary

Responsible for achieving budgeted volume and net sales for the country. Works closely with Distributors and Hill’s team to implement local initiatives and deliver agreed KPIs. Manage distributor-related business operations within specified country by implementing strategic orientation and organising local resources to achieve short and long term sales and profit objectives. Effectively build and manage mutually beneficial distributor relationships.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • 20% Facilitate the development and implementation together with the distributor of annual joint business plans for the country based on local opportunities and CEEME strategies and goals. Identify relevant Customer Development insights, recommend appropriate strategies, review KPIs, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow‑ups are implemented.
  • 20% Own the 5P in the territory, train the distributor staff on Hill’s 5P standards and ensure the sales reps have all material to implement flawlessly in stores and clinics.
  • 10% Work with distributor to develop the country promotional grid and facilitate flawless implementation on the ground.
  • 10% Ride‑on with distributor sales reps periodically to assess effectiveness, build understanding of local trade, provide sales training or facilitate cross‑functional training. Educate distributor on Hill’s Commercial Selling Principles.
  • 10% Act as liaison between CEEME functions and distributor to ensure integrated execution of programs.
  • 3% Bring distributor perspective into strategic planning and provide two‑way feedback during implementation.
  • 5% Identify key influencers and roles in distributor teams, maintain positive relationships, understand SWOT, and provide continuous improvement.
  • 5% Evaluate distributor infrastructure, recommend improvements to close gaps and achieve business goals.
  • 5% Manage sales‑related GTN budget, ensuring objectives are achieved within the budget.
  • 5% Share Hill’s pricing updates, clarify trading terms within European guidelines, report red flags and potential violations.
  • 5% Keep abreast of market and trade conditions to provide input into country plans and develop strategies.
  • 2% Maintain direct contact with key customers/influencers to achieve growth, support distributor in developing annual plans for large format pet retail accounts.
