16 is seeking a Business Manager to administer the business affairs and oversee district operations in such a way as to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting or Educational Administration.
- Experience in school finance is preferred.
- Successful experience as part of a management team.
- Other qualifications acceptable as deemed appropriate by the School Board.
- Supervises the financial affairs of the schools.
- Assume responsibility for long‑range financial planning.
- Supports the Superintendent in the development and implementation of the budget.
- Collaborates with the Operations Director in purchases by competitive bidding, formal quotations, and negotiation of items of supply and equipment necessary for the operation of the school district.
- Maintains accounts to show fully, at all times, the financial condition of the district.
- Establishes and supervises an accounting program to record in detail all money and credit transactions.
- Assists the School Board/Superintendent in negotiating union and non‑union contracts.
- Supervises the collection, safekeeping and distribution of funds.
- Manages the district's real estate and insurance programs.
- Supervises the district's supporting services, including the Food Service Director.
- Prepares for and attends Finance Committee meetings; assists in minutes.
- Acts as advisor to the Superintendent on all questions relating to the business and financial affairs of the district.
- Arranges for internal auditing of school accounts.
- Works with the Superintendent and the Board in developing financial policies.
- Attends meetings of State and other agencies serving the public schools and keeps informed of local, state and national issues affecting the finances of the district.
- Ensures proper filing and records for all Federal and State grants and Title monies.
- Assists in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, evaluating and dismissing personnel in positions covered by this position.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Superintendent.
