About Team Cymru

Team Cymru’s mission is to save and improve human lives by helping public and private sector analysts track and take down cybercriminals. We provide global visibility into cyber threat activity and serve as a key intelligence source for leading cybersecurity and threat intelligence vendors.

Our Pure Signal™ platform gives enterprise security teams on-demand access to global internet traffic telemetry, providing clarity into what’s happening across the internet with a level of visibility comparable to their own internal networks. This allows organizations to close detection gaps, accelerate incident response, and get ahead of critical, recurring threats. Team Cymru is a fast-paced, distribution-focused, private equity backed company where your work directly supports a mission that protects millions worldwide.

Define the Future of Threat Intelligence UX

We are seeking our first-ever UX Design Lead. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role where you will own the user experience end-to-end and set the design foundation for the company. You will partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape workflows and interfaces that help analysts make sense of complex, data-heavy threat intelligence.

This role is ideal for a founding designer mindset. Someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building systems from scratch, and wants to leave a lasting design legacy.

Why This Role Matters:

Team Cymru has built a successful product that security teams rely on daily, but we have never had a dedicated internal design function. This is your opportunity to change that.

As our UX Design Lead, you will define how customers experience our platform, create the standards that guide design quality, and transform complex threat data into intuitive workflows that drive faster, clearer decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and establish Team Cymru’s first UX function, including design standards, best practices, and scalable design systems.
  • Influence product roadmap decisions by partnering with leadership to define user-centric solutions.
  • Translate business goals and technical complexity into a cohesive product experience vision.
  • Lead the full UX process from discovery to wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes and final UI assets.
  • Design dashboards and workflows that make large-scale threat intelligence data clear and actionable.
  • Partner deeply with Engineering to ensure feasibility, quality implementation, and continuous iteration.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions using direct access to an established customer base.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Threat Research teams to understand friction points and improve usability.
  • Help shift the organization from feature-led to experience-led through UX education and advocacy.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in UX and product design, ideally owning major product areas or scaling design practices.
  • Experience designing for complex technical workflows in B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or data/analytics products.
  • Ability to operate as a team of one and build structure where none exists.
  • Strong executive communication skills and ability to defend design decisions with business impact.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
What Success Looks Like
  • A consistent and scalable design system is implemented and adopted across the product.
  • Threat intelligence workflows become faster, clearer, and more intuitive for analysts.
  • UX becomes a core part of how Team Cymru builds, prioritizes, and ships product.

Why Join Team Cymru:

  • Remote-first environment
  • High autonomy and leadership visibility
  • Mission-driven work that protects global communities
  • Opportunity to build a design function from the ground up

Benefits may vary for non-U.S. employees; please contact us for details.
