Position Summary:
The Data and Systems Analyst plays a critical role in driving informed decision-making across Horizon Recovery and affiliated programs. This position is responsible for extracting, auditing, analyzing, and reporting data from multiple internal systems including the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, survey tools, and outcome tracking platforms. The analyst will provide actionable insights to support clinical operations, the admissions department, and the alumni program.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and coordinate integration, updates, and other software system customization needs. This position will be the primary point of contact when an update to a form or field or process is identified by our team (Horizon) and needs to have a work order ticket or coordinate with the 3rd party to update/improve our EMR and CRM.
- Analyze data from multiple sources including EMR, CRM, internal surveys, and post‑treatment follow‑up platforms.
- Conduct regular audits of client charts to ensure that all expected, trackable data points (e.g., screenings, scores, authorizations, outcome tools) are present and complete.
- Identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent data across platforms or within client records.
- Proactively follow up with appropriate staff or departments (e.g., clinical team, admissions, medical staff) to rectify missing or incomplete data and ensure compliance with documentation expectations.
- Develop and maintain automated and ad hoc reports for clinical, operational, and strategic decision‑making.
- Take a proactive role in identifying opportunities for automation of reports, tracking systems, and other data workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Recommend and help implement new tools, integrations, or process improvements that streamline data reporting and collection.
- Track and evaluate key outcome and operational metrics such as:
- Patient acuity and clinical screening scores.
- Authorization trends and average length of stay.
- Outcome comparisons from intake to discharge and post‑discharge follow‑up.
- Conversion rates of qualified leads from inquiry to admission.
- Identified reasons for loss of leads or withdrawal from the admissions process.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and executive summaries to communicate trends and insights clearly.
- Respond to data requests from leadership, providing both recurring reports and custom analytics upon request.
- Assist departments in interpreting data to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain data quality and integrity across systems through regular audits and validation procedures.
- Collaborate with IT or software vendors as needed to improve data capture and reporting workflows.
- Clinical Operations:
Analyze clinical metrics to support care planning, utilization review, and performance monitoring. - Alumni Program:
Track long‑term outcome data and engagement trends for former clients. - Admissions Department:
Provide insight into lead conversion trends, source effectiveness, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics or systems analysis, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and EMR/CRM data extraction.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and behavioral health documentation and outcome measures.
- Demonstrated ability to identify missing data elements and coordinate resolution with appropriate staff or departments.
- Experience conducting audits of clinical documentation or system‑generated records.
- Experience identifying and automating manual reporting processes and improving system efficiency.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Skills:
- Experience with behavioral health or medical outcome tracking.
- Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Survey Monkey, Qualtrics) and data collection methodology.
- Ability to translate data into meaningful, actionable recommendations.
- Knowledge of SQL or other database query languages is a plus.
