SAP PLM Consultant

Location:

Remote + flexibility to travel within EU

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP PLM Consultant for a freelance assignment starting as soon as possible, ideally at the beginning of February. The contract duration is 5 months
, with work carried out remotely and only very occasional travel within the EU
. Some degree of flexibility is required to support project needs.

This role is suited to seasoned PLM professionals with a strong functional background and understanding of technical aspects across leading PLM platforms. The consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement and optimise PLM strategies and solutions.

• Develop and manage project plans, timelines and deliverables for PLM initiatives.
• Engage with business stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for PLM applications (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, SAP PLM, Dassault, Centric PLM).
• Design and improve PLM processes aligned with industry best practices.
• Create workflows and enhancements to support efficient product lifecycle management.
• Provide functional support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Support or oversee the technical implementation of PLM solutions.
• Prepare functional specifications related to recipe development, packaging, and labelling, collaborating closely with technical teams.
• Adapt PLM systems to meet specific industry or organisational needs.
• Integrate PLM tools with SAP and other enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, MES, etc.).
• Conduct full testing cycles, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Assist with data migration and product data import activities.
• Resolve issues identified during testing phases and after deployment.
• Act as the main point of contact for PLM-related queries and escalations.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex topics clearly.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective collaborator experienced in working within international teams.
• Solid technical understanding of leading PLM platforms, such as SAP PLM, Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault ENOVIA, or Centric PLM.

• Minimum 5 years of consulting experience.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Product Lifecycle Management.
• Knowledge of PLM industry standards, trends, and best practices.
• Familiarity with additional PLM and enterprise software tools.
• Relevant certifications (SAP PLM, Teamcenter, Windchill, Dassault, etc.) are an advantage.
• Ability to provide guidance on process transitions and related topics.
