Role SummaryThe Senior Data Engineer will own end‑to‑end data‑pipeline development, transforming raw source data into clean, cloud‑based assets that empower data‑driven decision making. Working independently and collaboratively, you will design, build, and monitor scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that feed Amwell’s reporting and analytics tools.
Core Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain fully tested data pipelines on a cloud platform, ensuring high quality, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Stay current with cloud data, analytics, and data‑engineering best practices, recommending platform improvements.
- Plan and execute both short‑term and long‑term project goals, balancing multiple priorities.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and production job monitoring.
- Apply data classification and data‑quality principles to secure and govern data assets.
- 5+ years of building data pipelines and modern data‑warehousing platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; preferred in Computer Science or related field.
- Deep experience with GCP, Big Query, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Data Fusion, and data‑migration to the cloud.
- Proficiency in Python for data extraction, ELT, and automation.
- Hands‑on experience with Informatica or similar ETL tools.
- Agile development experience (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of BI/DWH principles.
- CI/CD concepts and technical documentation skills.
- Prior experience coordinating offshore teams and working in an onsite‑offshore model.
- Health‑care domain knowledge is a plus.

The typical base salary range for this position is $114,000 – $157,000. Total compensation may include annual bonus, short‑term incentive, and long‑term equity, depending on role and performance.
