LV Scoping Consultant
Under the general supervision of the LV Program Director, the Scoping Consultant is responsible for managing client interactions to obtain request details and provide accurate quotations for both licensing and linguistic validation translation projects. This role involves conducting thorough research and review of licensed COA documents, creating instrument profiles, and processing licensing and permissions requests. Additionally, the Consultant will handle the scoping and quotation of LV translation projects, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery.
Prompt communication with clients, developers, and copyright holders is essential to secure availabilities and requirements, while maintaining high‑quality standards and on‑time delivery. The Consultant will also maintain their own quotation records and provide training to junior team members as needed.

Key Responsibilities- Understand and adhere to company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, including but not limited to ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 standards.
- Communicate with company customers/clients to obtain specifications and other information to provide accurate and timely quotes, ensuring their needs are met and issues are resolved promptly.
- Conduct thorough research and review of licensed COA documents, instrument profiles, and prior translation projects to avoid duplication and provide archive discounts.
- Prepare and process quotations for both licensing and translation projects, considering project complexity, type, size, and client specifications.
- Coordinate with colleagues in other departments to ensure cost and time estimates are accurate and within company capabilities, and that orders are processed according to client requests.
- Maintain organized records of instrument information, updating the instrument database as needed, and communicate updates to the team.
- Compose or generate a variety of materials (e.g., reports, memos, letters, manuals) to document activities and convey information regarding the status of client requests and associated projects.
- Analyze quoted project prices against actual prices to monitor accuracy and recommend changes to future cost estimates.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development.
- Coordinate with the Finance/Accounting Department to ensure proper processing of invoices and payments for projects.
- Transfer project files within the company electronic filing system to facilitate processing.
- Set up project file folders (specification sheet, purchase order, etc.) and make them available to the production team in a timely manner.
- Conduct special projects as assigned.
- Recommend policies, procedures, and actions to improve departmental efficiency and product quality, and to meet company quality and cost objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, English, foreign language, sales, marketing, social or applied science, or other related field.
- Successful production planning and account management (vendors and clients) in a fast‑paced environment, generally a minimum of one year, and within the Translation industry.
- Strong organizational skills in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
