About the role
Our client is hiring a Staff Platform Engineer in LATAM for their team!
As they build the foundation for SRE at their startup, this person will play a critical role in shaping their infrastructure and operational excellence in addition to being a full backend software engineer. Leveraging battle-tested technologies such as Kubernetes, Postgres, and AWS, this person will go beyond managing infrastructure to build tools that enable their engineers to create performant, scalable, and resilient applications.
However, since they are a small team, they will expect them to be a fully functioning backend software engineer as well. This person will be 70% backend engineer and 30% SRE (this person will need to be able to do backend feature work and integrations).
- Python/Django (Django required)
- Python + DB Performance optimization [Required]
- API / SFTP Integrations (must have experience)
- Feature Development experience
- Will need to be comfortable with AWS, Maintaining EKS (Kubernetes on AWS).
- Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Github Actions, AWS, Postgres, Redis.
- They don't need to have Dev Ops/SRE title, but from their resume they should have some of the Dev Ops keywords listed right above
- A lot of early startups don't have dedicated SREs but a senior BE architect/engineer is usually responsible for the Dev Ops work
- Scalable & Maintainable Backend Feature Development [Experience is Required]
- Scalable & Maintainable API/SFTP Integrations [Experience is Required]
- Monitoring and troubleshooting Postgres DB (adding/removing indexes, partitioning/sharding)
- Maintaining developer environments.
- Managing CI pipelines and runners.
- Setting up and managing alerting systems.
- Providing on-call support and guidance to other developers to triage issues.
- Contribute to key performance indicators (KPIs) such as system uptime, performance metrics, and compliance standards.
- Make a significant impact within the first 6-12 months by leading initiatives to improve infrastructure and operational practices.
