Expectations for the role

• Lead and optimize payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT to manage payroll schedules and data flow.
• Liaise with external payroll and benefits providers.
• Act as the Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Communicate payroll updates and resolve employee queries.
• Support audits and respond to tax-related notices.

• Manage relationships with providers and advisors.
• Oversee benefit documentation and resolve inquiries.
• Administer benefit plans and evaluate annual renewals.
• Benchmark benefits every 3 years and recommend improvements. Compliance & Process Management
  • Ensure approvals for remuneration and benefit changes.
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll process documentation.
  • Manage travel and salary advances per policy.
  • Identify and address process inefficiencies.
  • Apply Lean methodologies and drive automation.
  • Align with IT and Digital teams for tech-driven enhancements.
  Qualifications
  • Experience with Belgian payroll (WCW, BCW), ideally in the chemistry industry.
  • Exposure to international payroll and multi-country operations.
  • Experience in benefits management and vendor negotiations.
  • Familiarity with 116 and 207 parity-preferable.
