Overview
Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Location: Elmhurst, NY, 11373
Job Duration: 3 months+ with possible extension
Shift Time: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Pay Rate: $30 - $34/hr. on w2 contract
Note: This schedule is every weekend (2 days off Tue/Wed or Wed/Thu).
Training: Training will be for 2 weeks, from 9a-5p, including the EPIC class. *
Job Description- Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, pharmacy technicians will assist pharmacists in preparation, distribution of medications and maintaining drug inventory.
- Adheres to Federal, State, and local laws and other regulatory requirements regarding pharmacy and institutional practice.
- Performs related work rotating between satellites, tours and shifts.
- Under pharmacist supervision, will rotate assignments, and tours to meet departmental needs.
- Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time period
- Received, return and deliver medications, medication carts, and supplies to various hospital areas
- Operate equipment properly. Troubleshoots automated dispensing systems as needed
- One year experience required
- Pharmacy dispensing experience, Sterile Processing experience, IV room experience - Preferred
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Pharmacy Technician by the NYSED
