The Senior Mental Health Counselor is responsible for assisting the Director of Mental Health with overseeing clinical management of the Mental Health program, assisting with daily operations, governance and management, as well as carrying a clinical caseload of clients - providing assessment, treatment plan development, psychotherapy, and referral as indicated for individuals dealing with a variety of mental health and substance use issues within an integrated behavioral health/primary care setting.
Responsibilities- Assists in clinical management and documentation review of the counseling staff, in conjunction with the Director of Mental Health, of the counseling staff
- Assists with providing clinical and professional development of staff through weekly clinical supervisions and staff meetings and maintains supervisory notes according to agency standards as directed by the Director of Mental Health
- Facilitates onboarding; provides support and oversight of new hires and program interns
- Conducts initial psychosocial assessments and provides initial treatment recommendations and collaboratively with the patient develops a personalized treatment plan with emphasis on evidenced-based practice within a harm reduction orientation
- Conducts routine supervision and team meetings with direct reports and actively coaches direct reports to maintain and enhance knowledge, skills and abilities
- Prepares for and attends inter-departmental and external agency meetings as requested
Qualified candidate: Will have a master’s degree in social work (or similar), three (3) years of relevant experience, and LCSW required, knowledge utilizing electronic medical records software (Medent) strongly preferred, knowledge of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders

Compensation noteThis position is posted with a salary range. The actual rate of pay offered will be based on a variety of individualized factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s skills, relevant experience, educational background, internal equity, and market considerations.
