Base pay range$64,500.00/yr - $64,500.00/yr

The Behavioral Health Counselor provides a full range of integrated casework, including psychosocial assessments, person-centered treatment planning with a harm reduction orientation, evidence-based clinical interventions, advocacy, and referrals to individuals who present with a variety of mental health concerns, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and concerns around gender identity and sexual orientation. They must be proficient in trauma-informed assessments and treatment.
Responsibilities- Conducts initial psychosocial assessments either on-site and provides initial treatment recommendations, and collaboratively with the patient develops a personalized treatment plan with emphasis on evidence-based practice within a harm reduction orientation.
- Provides resources and referrals as indicated to facilitate achievement of a patient’s treatment goals.
- Provides psychotherapy and crisis intervention to individuals and families who are dealing with a variety of issues, including but not limited to mental health, including trauma, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic medical conditions including HIV, HCV and issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity.
- Adheres to program expectations and requirements surrounding productivity, documentation timelines and standards, and overall quality of patient care.
- Works within an integrated treatment model coordinating treatment with both internal and external providers as indicated.
- Will serve as a role model for positive, productive, and cooperative relationships with staff and clients.
- Adheres to Office of Mental Health regulations and Evergreen Health policy and procedures, including regulatory time frames on clinical documentation using an electronic medical record.
- Maintains confidentiality of all treatment records.
Qualified Candidate will have a Master’s degree in social work (or similar), two (2) years of relevant experience, with LMSW/LCSW preferred; candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills; candidate must have knowledge of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders; experience utilizing electronic medical records software (Medent) strongly preferred; sensitivity to and experience with underserved populations is essential.
