Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and operations teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues ranging from EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million, across various industries.
The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.
Within our Operations team, we are looking to hire a team member with a successful track record in Finance with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on-site across Europe.
Your Tasks- Manage the restructuring and improvement processes for our portfolio companies on-site to implement and improve sound cash management processes on-site
- Partner closely with the Mutares restructuring team by conducting financial analyses, developing and integrating financial models, and critically evaluating business cases
- Prepare and execute financing solutions (factoring, asset-based funding, credit lines)
- Improve financial statement closing and other finance/controlling processes and assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit
- Manage the relationship with external stakeholders (auditors, financial advisers, banks, credit insurers, etc.)
- Successfully completed a Finance degree with outstanding results
- At least 6 years of experience in a Big4/Management Consulting firm (preferably restructuring focused) or Controlling/Finance department of an industry firm (preferably with exposure to restructuring situation)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and hands‑on approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Integrated financial modelling and cash forecasts)
- Business fluency in Polish and English with the ability to communicate in a well‑structured and concise manner
- Willingness to travel up to 4 days per week (typically Monday – Thursday) and to work in an international environment
