Our client is a well-established construction company with operations spanning multiple businesses, primarily in real estate and construction. They are committed to financial stability and operational efficiency, seeking a skilled professional to oversee and enhance their financial management processes.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our client’s team. This is a virtual role with flexible hours, ideally from 8 AM to 3 PM (Monday-Friday, Western Time) , to accommodate weekly meetings with the company’s leadership. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, stability, and efficiency across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

Oversee financial stability across multiple companies, primarily in real estate and construction.

Supervise and validate the work done by the bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy in financial records.

Manage payroll oversight and ensure timely and accurate processing.

Handle collections and monitor accounts receivable, following up with sales staff on outstanding payments.

Ensure accurate coding of transactions and job tracking for financial clarity.

Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights and support decision-making.

Identify discrepancies, rectify financial errors, and ensure compliance with financial best practices.

Communicate proactively with leadership on financial health and cash flow analysis.

Requirements

Experience: 3-5 years in financial roles, preferably in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

Industry

Experience:

Background in real estate or construction is a plus but not required.

Skills & Tools: Proficiency in Quick Books, OnPay, and Avid Exchange.

Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot financial inaccuracies and ensure correct reporting.

Analytical Thinking: Capable of providing insights on financial trends, reporting, and cash flow analysis.

Proactive Communication: The ideal candidate should be highly communicative and proactive in addressing financial matters.

Leadership: This role is focused on high-level financial management rather than data entry, requiring strong oversight and decision-making abilities.
