Technical Chief of Staff

The Role.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Chief of Staff with a strong technical background to oversee operations and coordinate projects within our engineering organization. This role requires a highly organized individual with a deep engineering knowledge. You will join a small, dynamic team and lead efforts as the key liaison between the CTO and engineers. This is a unique title for a role, we didn’t know what to call it.

Truth is, if you are the right candidate we can decide to call this role whatever you want. We are looking for someone who is technical, entrepreneurial, and wants to play a high visibility, key cross-functional role.

• Act as a bridge between management and engineers, ensuring clear communication.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams when needed.
• Troubleshooting engineering process issues, and optimizing the onboarding process for new team members.
• Owning and maintaining our developer documentation, ensuring clarity, comprehensiveness, and overall excellence.
• Being a thought partner for our product roadmap by collaborating with the CEO, CTO, and customers, bringing insights and highlighting developer needs.
• Contributing to newsletters, blog posts, and release notes to keep our audience informed about new features and product updates.

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
• Background as an engineer, or in a cross-functional technical role such as a technical product manager at an early-stage company.
• Experience in a customer-facing or stakeholder-facing role.
• Experience writing code, either professionally or as a hobby/side project.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, including networking, security, and automation.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong product sense and ability to think critically about prioritization.
• Ability to manage and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Self-motivated and autonomous, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning.
