Industrial Engineering Technician/Estimator – Weber Knapp

Location: Jamestown, NY

Preparation of Cost Estimates and Engineering Documentation for New and Revised Products.

• Gather/Calculate all estimating data for Sales Cost Requests.
• Submit RFQ’s to Purchasing Department for new or modified materials.
• Obtain and review tooling quotes from Manufacturing/Tool Engineers.
• Input proposed manufacturing methods into ERP Estimating/Quoting Module.
• Write Engineering Orders for new products and changes to existing products.
• Input approved BOM and Routing updates into ERP system.
• Prepare detailed Process Work Instructions; produce and revise production prints using Solid Works.
• Participate in weekly Sales/Engineering Cost/Design Review meetings.
• Additional tasks may include motion and time study for process rate determination.
• Actual cost versus estimated cost audits.

  Skills:
  
  Proficiency using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD preferred; proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word or related software; solid mechanical aptitude; exposure to Lean Manufacturing Methods; ability to communicate and work with people at all levels of the office and factory floor.
• Required Qualifications:
  
  Two‑year technical or financial degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Physical requirements:
  
  prolonged periods of sitting at a desk; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
