Virtual Academic Assistant for Business
The Academic Team is looking for candidates who can help us organize and create high-quality academic content for business related courses, specifically in the areas of undergraduate level financial accounting, managerial accounting, macroeconomics, and microeconomics. This will require general academic assistance, including managing academic content, video reviewing, and practice problem creation.

- Have prior experience being a Subject Matter Expert for an online tutoring platform (Chegg, Tutor Universe, , Got It, etc.)
- Expertise in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Accounting, and Managerial Accounting
- Academically minded with a college degree in Business or a related field of study
- Detail-oriented person who can work well with minor supervision
- Identify learning objectives from textbook chapters
- Compare learning objectives from textbooks and video lessons to determine the extent of overlap between them
- Create and manage playlists of academic content based on a list of learning objectives
- Group a collection of practice problems by overlapping learning objectives covered.
- Review recorded practice problem video solutions for academic accuracy
- Identify videos with errors and report them to the video tutor
- Provide helpful feedback on how to resolve errors in reviewed videos
- Select a representative problem from a group of problems to create a unique problem that is similar to (but not the same as) the representative problem.
- Provide the solution to the problem that you create, while including incorrect “trick” answers in multiple choice format
- Review problems and solutions created by others for similarity to the representative problem and check for correctness (determine if the answer that he/she provided is correct)
- Help create and grade academic assessments to screen future hires within the business team
- Availability between 20-30 hours per week
- Work Monday through Friday
- Work some hours daily between the hours of 8am-8pm Eastern Standard Time (-5, UTD)
- Microsoft Office Suite & Teams
- Google Chrome
- Slack
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English with excellent grammar
- Good and reliable internet connection
- A working webcam and microphone
- Two monitors for efficiency
Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Experience writing problems for other academic sites (Chegg, Coursera, Khan Academy, etc.)
Start Date:
As soon as possible, no later than April 1st
