The dean of the Faculty of Culture and Arts, with the consent of the Rector of the University of Warsaw, announces a competition for the position of professor in the Institute of Art History, Faculty of Culture and Arts of the University of Warsaw

RequirementsResearch Field Arts Education Level PhD or equivalent
Skills/QualificationsFulfilment of the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, consolidated text) Academic title of Professor in Humanities
Strong academic record in the history of modern or contemporary art, including publications
Experience in conducting research projects funded by a public institution and granted through an open call
Relevant teaching experience in higher education institutions
Fluency in Polish
Proficiency in English enabling the conduct of classes in this language
The foregoing requirements shall be fulfilled by the final application submission date stipulated in this announcement
Additional assetsThe successful candidate shall pursue funding for scientific research from national and international grant competitions.
If hired, we expect the University of Warsaw to be the primary workplace for the successful candidate.
Specific RequirementsConduct research in the discipline of art studies and adopt the publishing strategy in line with the evaluation of the discipline of art studies
Prepare and teach courses, assigned by the respective Faculty Chair (180 teaching-hours per annum)
Experience in conducting research projects funded by a public institution and awarded in national or international open grant competitions
Teaching experience in higher education institutions
Additional criteria:
Experience in organizational activities, particularly within higher education institutions
Proficiency in foreign languages
