The position of Assistant Professor (Adiunkt) in the group of research and teaching staff at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Employment at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy offers the opportunity to work within a strong, supportive research team, supporting both research and teaching activities. In addition to research duties, the successful candidate will be required to conduct up to 210 teaching hours per academic year.

Employment contract for a fixed term, valid until 30 September 2027.

Skills/Qualifications

The competition is open to individuals who meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, Article 113 as amended) and who meet the following requirements:

• a PhD degree in the discipline of physical sciences,
• a publication record appropriate to the candidate’s career stage in the discipline of physical sciences, demonstrated by publications in leading scientific journals, project experience, and awards for scientific achievements,
• conducting scientific research using numerical tools and methods, linked to the planned teaching activities,
• proficiency in tools such as Python, COMSOL, and CAD will be considered an additional asset,
• high motivation for scientific work, research independence, and strong communication skills,
• high motivation and aptitude for teaching activities,
• experience in acquiring research grants will be considered an additional asset.

Specific Requirements

• documented experience in the practical use of the Python programming language, including both the implementation of programming projects and the delivery of academic-level teaching,
• documented experience in teaching mobile device programming, in particular in the Android environment,
• documented experience in teaching industrial automation, including in particular the programming of Siemens PXC
  4.E16 industrial controllers,
• documented experience in the design of three-dimensional systems (3D modelling or 3D printing) within scientific or engineering projects or in teaching activities.

During the evaluation process, the Selection Committee may consider the candidate’s research profile in the context of research conducted at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy at Adam Mickiewicz University. Preference will be given to candidates conducting research on the dynamics of objects in the Solar System, particularly studies focused on orbit determination.
