We are looking for Director of Sales & Marketing - Gran Melia Jakarta

Mission:

As a Director of Sales & Marketing you’ve responsibility to drive revenue growth and market presence through strategic planning, effective sales strategies, and innovative marketing initiatives. You’re committed to leading a high‑performing team, fostering strong relationships with clients and partners, and consistently exceeding sales targets. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive sales and marketing plans aligned with the organization's overall goals, identifying and capitalizing on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to position our products/services competitively.

You are dedicated to creating a dynamic sales culture within the organization, focusing on continuous improvement, training, and motivation of the sales and marketing team. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams is crucial to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to customer engagement and satisfaction. In addition, you’re responsible for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing data, and providing actionable insights to optimize sales and marketing efforts.

You will leverage emerging technologies and digital platforms to enhance our online presence and engage with a broader audience. Ultimately, your mission is to contribute to the overall success of the organization by driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and enhancing the brand image through effective sales and marketing strategies. From the sense of arrival to welcome amenities, concierge duties with upselling of our facilities and destination to achieving guests’ loyalty by enrolling them for our loyalty program.

Our guests are our followers, and our mission is to create their belonging to our hotel and brand.

What will I have to do?

  • Report directly to the GM
  • Develop the annual sales and marketing plan
  • Establish sales and marketing policies, procedures and objectives
  • Prepare and manage budgets for the sales and marketing department
  • Closely monitor developments in competitor hotels
  • Track sales and marketing results
  • Liaise with all customers locally and overseas, visit them personally and identify potential new clients
  • Propose and coordinate promotional activities carried out by the sales and/or F&B department
  • Initiate, prepare and participate in both national and international trade fairs, exhibitions, workshops, road shows, sales events, etc.
  • Implement strategies to lead an effective sales team
  • Identify, retain and develop talent within the team
  • Ensure that all employees have sales targets, individual sales plans and personal incentive
  • Understand, follow and communicate the company’s sales vision

What are we looking for?

  • Local experience is required
  • A diploma/degree in hotel management or sales and marketing
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position in a five‑star hotel within Jakarta market in MICE business, Government sector, and Corporate business
  • Excellent command of Bahasa and English
  • The ability to work and communicate in a local and multinational environment
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of hotel software
  • Strong leadership, analytical and commercial skills
  • A highly accurate and detail‑oriented working method
  • High flexibility and service orientation
  • A pleasant personality and a well‑groomed appearance
  • A structured independent, enthusiastic and assertive working style
  • Focus in achieving Team and Individual Target
