HOD Computer Science

Eligibility Criteria of a HOD

• PhD degree in the relevant discipline (Preferred)

• Master's degree (M.Tech(CSE) with at least 55% marks (Essential)
• 7-12 years of teaching/research/industry experience

• Proven record of Domain Specific Knowledge (Ex: AI/ML, FSD, Cyber Security/Data Science etc.)

• Proven record of publications in SCI/Scopus indexed journals.

• Proven record of academic leadership.

• Experience in curriculum development, BOS, academic committees.

• Proven record of guiding projects, dissertations, PhD students (preferred)

• Experience in accreditation activities (NAAC/NBA) (preferred)

• Proven ability to manage faculty, timetables, academic planning

• Ability to meet compliance of UGC, AICTE, NEP-2020 norms

• Involvement in CO–PO mapping, OBE implementation, credit structure design, etc.

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) of a HOD in Indian Universities

• Working closely with the University stakeholders.

• Ensuring 100% syllabus completion on time

• Monitoring faculty lecture quality and teaching plans
• Ensuring academic calendar compliance
• Reducing student complaints related to academics
• Timely preparation of timetables and workloads
• Monitoring punctuality, course files, attendance updates
• Faculty training & FDP participation
• Conducting mentoring / faculty review meetings
• Encouraging a research culture within the department
