Job Overview:
We are looking for a Team Leader to join our team. The Audit Team Leader will be responsible for managing and executing the full audit cycle for U.S. Government and Not-for-Profit (NFP) clients. This role involves leading audit engagements from planning through issuance of the final report, ensuring compliance with applicable auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. The Team Leader will oversee engagement teams of 4-5 persons and provide technical guidance on auditing and compliance matters.
Roles & Responsibilities :
Lead the audit process from initial engagement letter preparation through final report presentation.
Plan, execute, and complete audit engagements in accordance with U.S. GAAS, GAGAS (Yellow Book), and Uniform Guidance requirements.
Supervise, mentor, and review work performed by staff auditors.
Perform risk assessments and develop tailored audit strategies for government and nonprofit clients.
Review internal control systems and perform walkthroughs/testing to evaluate effectiveness.
Draft audit findings, recommendations, and reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Coordinate with Front Office Manager to obtain supporting documentation, resolve issues, and communicate audit progress.
Ensure timely completion of engagements within budgeted hours and deadlines.
Monitor compliance with grant and contract requirements for federal and state funding.
Stay current with accounting, auditing, and regulatory updates relevant to government and nonprofit sectors.
Skills &
Qualifications:
8 years of auditing experience, (including US auditing).
CA,CPA (Qualified)
In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAS, GAGAS (Yellow Book), and Uniform Guidance
Prior experience with federal grant compliance audits..
Experience auditing government entities and nonprofit organizations.
Familiarity with GASB and FASB standards relevant to government and nonprofit organizations.
Proficiency in Advance Excel
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Strong client communication and problem-solving ability.
Excellent review and supervision skills
