Mill Equipment Operator – Day/Night Shift Available – Monthly Bonus!
Join us at Lignetics as a Mill Equipment Operator where you will operate and adjust pellet mills, perform quality control testing, and support production processes.
Shift & HoursDay Shift/Night Available.
Days: Sunday to Tuesday – work every other Wednesday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Nights: Wednesday to Saturday – work every other Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Full‑time.
Salary: $21 hr (up to $23 hr) with a monthly bonus.
- Operate and adjust 3 pellet mills.
- Perform QC testing of finished pellets.
- Test incoming raw material and mix moisture content.
- Change rolls on pellet mills using overhead hoist.
- Perform routine inspections to identify issues or problems.
- Assist dryer operator to keep pellet moisture between 4–4.5 %.
- Measure and record durability, volume of fines, pellet diameter, and perform soak tests to meet PFI standards.
- Continuously monitor equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings.
- Maintain pellet mill feed rates and adjust rolls/dies as needed.
- Keep a clean work area, clearing sawdust piles.
- Perform ash tests on mix and finished pellet and communicate results to the dryer operator.
- Report silo volume visually to the dryer operator.
- Collect shift operator reports and verify accurate paperwork.
- Report incidents, accidents, and maintenance requests.
- Participate in down‑day repairs and process cleaning.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School diploma or GED (preferred).
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the production process.
- Strong technical, analytical skills.
- Must pass company forklift certification.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lb safely and stand up to 12 h/day.
- Ability to use catwalks and climb ladders up to 30 ft.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills for pellet mill maintenance.
- Basic math calculation proficiency.
- Experience working in high temperature/humidity environment.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces.
