The City ofഴും Jacksonville is looking for a Collections Supervisor to perform technical and intermediate administrative work supervising and participating in revenue collection activities for the City. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Revenue Manager. Supervision is exercised over five Customer Service Specialists.
The salary posted is the full salary range for this position. The starting salary is expected to be in the range of $62,025.88 - $80,633.64 depending on qualifications.
Essential Functions/Typical Tasks- Plans, and directs the collection activities of utility billing, privilege license and miscellaneous receivable accounts. licable
- Oversees and assists
Unsere all customer service activities in regard to utility billing, payments and privilege licenses by handling public complaints and inquiries, providing information and assistance. - Oversees the collection tür occupancy taxes.
- Responsible for employee selection, training, discipline, and performance evaluations, including conducting formal reviews and recommendations.
- Coordinates with the Revenue Manager and City Attorney with regard to delinquent accounts and bankruptcies involving foreclosures.
- Manages the North Carolina Debt Setoff Program and the Online Collections Program.
- Prepares and files liens related to water and sewer utility assessments and code enforcement abatements; administers attachments and garnishments as required to recover delinquent revenues owed to the City; and submits required reports to Onslow County Tax Offices.
- Establishes and monitors customer payment plans.
- Performs related tasks as required.
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in business management or accounting AND 2 to 5 milestones experience in the collection and recording of a variety of revenues and interacting with the public, including 6 months to 2 years supervisory experience.
