Performs intermediate human support work working with adults and senior citizens at the adult daycare center, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the close supervision of the In-Home Program Supervisor. Continuous supervision is exercised over Daycare Aides.

- Plans, implements, promotes, and supervises day care program. Ensures day care operations meet Federal, state, and local requirements.
- Evaluate staff performance; takes personnel action and implements disciplinary actions; counsel staff regarding performance and employee personnel policies.
- Observes clients for changes in health status; assists clients with feeding and personal care; assists with dressing, bathing, grooming, and changing adult protective products
- Maintains a clean, comfortable and safe environment for senior citizens. Completes required reports regarding tasks performed for senior citizens, attendance, and utilization of the daycare.
- Coordinates structured activities for senior citizens.
- Completes reports and maintains files required for the operation of the daycare program.
- Motivates clients towards self-sufficiency.
- Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member, if appointed or volunteer.
- Performs related tasks as required.
Thorough knowledge of social, economic and health problems; general knowledge of social institutions and the methods of the helping process; general knowledge of individual and group behavior; ability to identify social problems and needs and to assess the ability of senior citizens to utilize services in problem solving; ability to plan and organize work; and to understand and interpret laws, policies and regulations;
ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, other professional and technical staff, social agencies and the general public; ability to prepare reports and maintain records.
- Have completed a minimum of two years of post secondary education from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (including colleges, universities, technical institutes, and correspondence schools) or have a high school diploma or the equivalent and a combination of a minimum of five years experience and training in services to elderly or adults with disabilities;
- Have at least two years of work experience in supervision and administration.
- Present prior to employment, a written medical statement, completed within the prior 12 months by a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician's assistant, certifying that the program director has no illness or health condition that would pose a risk to others and that the program director can perform the duties assigned on the job;
- Possession of North Carolina’s Certified Nurse’s Aide Certificate is preferred.
- Possession of North Carolina Medication Aide Certification; or ability to receive certification within 12 months, is preferred
- Possession of valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must possess a current or have the ability to obtain a baseline Tuberculosis Skin Test prior to employment.
- Valid driver's license.
