We are actively hiring for a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team in Jacksonville, NC. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Broadstep Behavioral Health Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support our Assertive Community Treatement (ACT) Team
in Jacksonville, NC. The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team consists of a community-based group of medical, behavioral health, and rehabilitation professionals who use a team approach to met the needs of apatientwith severe and persistent mental illness.

ACT Team psychiatric care provider(NP or PA)you areintegratedonthe teamand provide direct services to patients.
About the Company:
Broadstep has been a leader in providing a continuum of physical, emotional, and mental support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), mental illness, and co-occurring disorders for over 45 years.
Broadstep’s North Carolina services include a wide array ofmental health and substance use programs and services. The services provided are community-based, outpatient therapy, and crisis services to serve people where they are.
North Carolina programs are CARF accredited and are focused on the concept of whole person care and wellness.
Part-time, 20 hours a week Monday-Friday, with travel (mileage reimbursement) to meet with clients in the community to deliver behavioral health services.
Job Duties:
- Sees clients for the assessment and treatment of the client’s symptoms and response to medication including side effects;
Frequency will vary for each client, with the majority seen within 4 to6 weeksof last appointment, with many of the contacts being in the community. - Collaborates with the ACT team leader in sharing overall clinical responsibility for monitoring beneficiary treatment and clinical supervision to the team;
- Actively collaborates with nurses to develop and implement medication administration policies and procedures as well as oversee the medical care of clients that include regular screenings for medical conditions and assessment of wellness and health management;
- Educates non-medical team members on psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications, their side effects, and health-related conditions; provides diagnostic and medication education to beneficiary, with medication decisions based on shared decision making;
- Participates in daily team meetings and treatment planning meetings;
- Provides psychiatric back-up to the program after-hours and weekends.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations
- Consults with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of PMHNP.
- Communicates with patients and engages in follow-up in-between appointments, as necessary.
- Maintain timely patient documentation through our EHR system
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required. Must be open to continuing education.
Required Education/
Experience:
- Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PMHNP) with a current NC license that meets the requirements as specified in 21
NCAC 36.0800 with at least three years full-time experience treating individuals with SPMI*;
