About the Role

As an Intern Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the engineering team to optimize manufacturing processes and improve production efficiency. This position offers hands‑on experience in analyzing current manufacturing methods, identifying areas for improvement, and assisting in the implementation of innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including design, quality, and production to ensure seamless integration of engineering changes.

The role is designed to provide exposure to real‑world manufacturing challenges, fostering your technical and problem‑solving skills in a dynamic industrial environment. Ultimately, your contributions will help enhance product quality, reduce costs, and support the company’s commitment to operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD software such as Solid Works or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Previous internship or project experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Minitab or MATLAB.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Interest in automotive or fuel system manufacturing
  • Understanding of GD&T and basic dimensional inspection methods
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the analysis and documentation of existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and potential improvements.
  • Support the development and testing of new manufacturing techniques and equipment under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in data collection and analysis to monitor process performance and quality metrics.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, process documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Skills

The required skills such as analytical thinking and problem‑solving are essential for evaluating manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office enables effective data analysis and clear communication of findings through reports and presentations. Preferred skills like CAD software knowledge allow the intern to assist in designing and modifying manufacturing tools or layouts. Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies supports the implementation of process improvements aimed at reducing waste and enhancing efficiency.

Strong teamwork and communication skills facilitate collaboration with cross‑functional teams, ensuring that engineering solutions are practical and aligned with production goals.
