Forklift Driver

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

To insure proper loading and unloading of trucks, stacking and receiving of pallets and goods, using a forklift

Starts at $17/hr

• Timely & regular attendance is required as stated per company policy
• Flexible to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as needed
• Safely and efficiently operate a forklift
• Perform a daily check list on equipment
• Keep up with fast pace of production, transporting pallets and storing inventory
• Remove product from trucks in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety standards, procedures and processes
• Coordinate with supervisors to ensure proper flow of inbound or outbound product
• Hand-stack pallets in appropriate manner
• Load and unload product properly to minimize damage
• Maintain and clean up in and around the pallet yard
• Turn in proper paperwork correctly and timely
• Report Incidents and/or accidents promptly to direct supervisor

• Must have 1 year of experience operating a forklift
• Basic English reading/writing and mathematical skills
• Must be able to function and operate comfortably in a very active fast-paced environment
• Must be able to apply general logic to a variety of situations and make sound, safe and logical decisions in potentially dangerous situations
• Must be able to interact courteously and tactfully with managers, co-workers, customers and/or vendors to the point that productivity and morale are positively affected

• Be organized and make good use of time
• Quality assurance on pallet build
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment
• Utilize job-specific procedures and tools when needed
• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, detail cleaning, yard maintenance and clean-up, etc. as needed
• Performing responsibilities of other positions as requested by Supervisor
• Utilize Supervisor assistance as needed
• Report any equipment problems to Supervisor and/or Site Manager
• Any and all other duties that may be assigned or deemed necessary by Supervisor.

• Must be able to endure extreme temperatures of heat and cold throughout the workday Standing, bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and walking continuously during the day
• Reach above shoulder level frequently
• Lifting 30 - 50 pounds frequently, lifting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally throughout the workday
• Endurance required as position entails fast-paced action continuously throughout the workday
• Must be able to withstand loud noise and distractions
• 20/20 Vision with Correction
