SummaryAs a CDL Class A or B Vac Truck Operator, you will play a critical role in our industrial cleaning operations. You will operate specialized vacuum trucks to safely remove waste materials, liquids, and sludge from client sites, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a high standard of safety.
Duties and Responsibilities- Vacuum Truck Operations:
Safely operate and maneuver CDL Class A or B vacuum trucks in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. - Waste Removal:
Perform efficient removal of waste materials, liquids, sludge, and debris from tanks, pits, vessels, and other industrial structures using vacuum equipment, hoses, and attachments. - Waste Management and Disposal:
Ensure proper handling, transportation, and disposal of waste materials in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; identify and segregate hazardous and non-hazardous materials as required. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of waste removal activities, including manifests and disposal records; collaborate with team members to provide detailed project information. - Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of vacuum trucks, perform basic maintenance tasks (fluid checks, hose/fitting inspections, filter cleaning), and report issues promptly. - Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, adhere to lockout/tagout procedures, participate in safety meetings, and promote a culture of safety. - Team
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with supervisors and project managers, support colleagues as needed, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a vacuum truck operator or in a related industrial cleaning or waste management role is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of vacuum truck operation, setup, and basic maintenance; familiarity with waste management regulations, including handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Understanding of safety regulations (OSHA) and confined space entry procedures.
- Ability to operate and maneuver CDL Class A or B vacuum trucks safely and efficiently.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in varied weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
