Reporting to the Regional Supervisor, the HS/PRS Case Manager will provide case management and supportive services to unaccompanied immigrant children released from federal custody.

DUTIES

  • Conduct home visits and phone contacts to assess safety and appropriateness of the child's placement with their caregiver (sponsor) and connect the child to community services to address risk factors.
  • Ongoing case management focusing on screening and making appropriate referrals to address the child's needs in areas such as placement, safety, education, health, mental health, legal/immigration proceedings, substance abuse, independent living, juvenile justice, and child enrichment activities.
  • Provide crisis intervention services directly, or connect the family to services to ensure safety and well-being in crisis situations.
  • Submit detailed documentation in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Use social work best practices for assessments of the child's progress and services.
  • Maintain regular communication with the supervisor regarding safety, stability, or well-being concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 1 year of experience with child welfare programs
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to services
  • Excellent clinical and crisis intervention skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical assessment and analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 70%
  • Fluency in Spanish required
  • Knowledge or experience working with refugee or immigrant children preferred
  • Cross-cultural or international experience preferred

Special Position Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to pass FBI background check and CA/N check for all states of residence in the last five years.
