Overview
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking a Field Technician to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. The role is on-site at the location detailed in the job post, with occasional work in local chemical plants.
Whatyou’ll do
- Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
- Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
- Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
- Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
- Report as needed to clients jobsites to perform concrete/soil testing and inspection, pick up concrete/soil samples, and perform laboratory testing on concrete/soil samples
The base wage or salary range for this position is dependent on experience. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Minimum EducationHigh School/GED
Technician
Additional Qualifications / Responsibilities- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
- Must be able to pass a plant background and Hair Follicle drug test
- Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently;
Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance - Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
- Ability to work overnight hours and off shift
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Construction Material Testing (CMT) experience
- Industry relevant certifications preferred - ACI, ICC, FDOT
