Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Auto Accessory Installer to join our team at the port terminal. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and maintaining a variety of OEM and aftermarket accessories on new vehicles arriving at the terminal. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Accessory Installation:
    Install a range of automotive accessories, including roof rack systems, trailer hitches, wireless charging pads, park assist systems, interior lighting, exterior body kits, exhaust components, body decals, and other manufacturer- or customer-specified add-ons.
  • Tool Operation:
    Utilize hand tools, air tools, and specialized automotive equipment for installation and minor repairs.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all installations meet OEM specifications and company quality standards.
  • Documentation:
    Accurately complete work orders and maintain detailed installation and inspection records.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
    Perform minor maintenance and resolve installation issues as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    Follow all safety guidelines and port terminal policies, including the use of required PPE.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

    Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and port personnel to ensure workflow efficiency and timely vehicle processing.
  • Inventory Monitoring:
    Assist in tracking accessory and tool inventory, and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License – Required.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Must pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
Experience
  • Previous experience in auto accessory installation, automotive repair, or related mechanical work is strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong mechanical and basic electrical skills.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to operate vehicles, forklifts, and other powered equipment.
  • Adherence to safety protocols, including no use of personal cell phones while on duty.
Certifications
  • Automotive certifications (e.g., ASE) are preferred but not required.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk long distances, and talk and hear.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and arms to grab, handle, feel, and reach.
  • Ability to occasionally sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl.
  • Ability to occasionally climb ladders or stairs.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • You must wear the required safety PPE, Safety vest, hard hat, gloves, etc.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Working indoors and outdoors.
  • Excessive heat or cold, extreme weather conditions, excessive humidity or dampness or chilling.
  • Slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
  • Work around machinery with moving parts.
  • Work around moving objects, vehicles, and moving machinery/heavy equipment.
